Telegiv.com is a Telegram-based prize drawing service that utilizes cutting-edge AI technology behind the scenes to deliver remarkable results. The team approached me with the task of creating a delightful and approachable robot character to visually represent this AI.
As the website design is currently in development and follows a clean and minimalist aesthetic, the UI team expressed the need for a 2D character that seamlessly integrates into the overall look. These are some of my initial design concepts.
It was important to make sure that the character would work well against both black and white backgrounds. We experimented with various color schemes within our company's brand palette. Additionally, we explored different head shapes since some team members felt the initial robot design appeared somewhat melancholic. In the end, we embraced the "sad" look;)
Here's an example of how we plan to use the robot on the website page:
(the animation is demonstrating that the user hasn't created any newsletters yet)
I often film myself, it helps me to animate the movements of my characters (even not humans)
For the initial animation, I used After Effects and Duik and Joysticks&Sliders scripts. However, for future animations, we're considering using Rive (as in the first animation where the robot follows the cursor).
Currently, the website is still under development, and I'm continuously working on animating the robot for various pages. Once the website is complete, we look forward to showcasing another project in collaboration with the UI/UX team.
